Shenango Ridge Labradors

Shenango Ridge Labradors was founded in 2006. We love the looks & temperament of an English Lab. After searching for some time for English hunting Labradors, we decided to try to breed just what we were looking for. All of our labs are pets first and hunting dogs second. They are all calm & easy to train. We are striving to produce labs who adhere to the standard for conformation & will do what they are bred to do. We built a new 700 square foot kennel in 2006 to keep our labs safe, dry, & warm.

Health Guarantee:

Puppy is to be a purebred, registered with the AKC, and that the pedigree is correct to the best of our knowledge.

We guarantee a healthy puppy, to the best of our knowledge, for 5 days from the date of purchase or to the date of your first visit to the veterinarian, whichever comes first. If the veterinarian finds the puppy to be seriously ill, the cause of which is hereditary in nature (this does not include parasites), return the dog along with the AKC registration papers. The verification of health must be done by a licensed veterinarian at the buyers expense including lab tests of stool sample.

We guarantee the puppy to be free from any genetic defect up to 1 year of age (26 months for hip dysphasia). If puppy is suspected to have progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) or central progressive retinal atrophy, it must be verified by a qualified veterinary ophthalmologist.

For hip dysphasia, the puppy must be x-rayed no later than 26 months of age; and if your veterinarian suspects a problem, the x-ray must be verified by the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) as to the condition of the hips.

If a health defect is determined to be genetic/hereditary, Shenango Ridge Labradors will replace the dog with a puppy of the same sex and color as soon as possible. (If deposits are already made on that particular litter, the choice for puppy being replaced will fall in line behind the deposits). The first puppy would have to be returned to Shenango Ridge Labradors with its AKC paperwork. All diagnostic, return, replacement, shipping expenses will be the owner’s responsibility.

If a genetic/hereditary defect is determined and the owner wants to do surgery to correct the defect, then Shenango Ridge Labradors will pay for the surgery if it is less than the purchase price of the puppy. If it is more than the purchase price of the puppy, than only the purchase price of the puppy will be refunded. If surgery is not required, and the owner wants to keep the dog, then the guarantee will be void and no money will be refunded. Any money to be refunded for the surgery for the dog will only be done after surgery has been done, a copy of the veterinary bill has been submitted to Shenango Ridge Labradors and, to ensure that defects will not be passed on, the buyer, at his/her expense must spay/neuter the dog.

This guarantee is dependent upon demonstration that the puppy has received adequate care and nutrition (not overweight). It is also important that there be no evidence that the puppy was abused, neglected, over exercised, over stressed, or experience any trauma that may effect the development or well being of the puppy or this guarantee will be void.
