GHG® FFD Lesser Decoys by David Rearick
Through testing this fall, I was amazed at how well they worked not only in the early “nuisance” season, but also on the migrating Interiors we see during November and December. The realistic body detail, coupled with the fully flocked non-glare body, proved worth the price. Especially on days when bright sun or rain was a factor. On one particular hunt, I tried using them exclusively for resident birds and in 45 minutes ended up shooting just one bird shy of a one-man 8 bird limit! It was truly amazing how well the bigger resident geese worked to these smaller decoys. The GHG® FFD Lessers not only offer a smaller, more compact size for transportation to and from the field, but a slightly lighter weight which allows for more to be carried into the field at one time. This saves on storage space and cuts the decoy spread set-up time in half.
Another added benefit is the Avery RealMotion® cones installed into the decoy. Because they are a slightly lighter weight than the Elite GHG® FFDs, the decoy mimics the motion of a real goose, even in the slightest breezes. This new addition to the GHG® decoy line-up has given me another edge in the goose field, and added more depth to my spread than in previous years.
