Hogg Projects:

From building and installing woodduck boxes across the Northeast to raising, banding, and releasing mallards on the GHHC's "Skeeter" Marsh, the Game Hoggs and Backwater DC Boys are dedicated to protect the sport through conservation for many years to come. We want to ensure that not only our kids will have the opportunity to get into the field, but their grandkids will be also able to partake in the sport we are passionate about. The combination of the two groups not only allows for diversified opportunities for everyone to get involved, but the BWDC provides guidance through their real life traning and experience. This combination allows for us to maximize everything we do. In the future these efforts will be expanded to cover many more fronts in need of the GHHC and BWDC efforts.

GHHC Summer Planting- Japenese Millet

With the summer growing months upon us, it is time to get out and plant for the upcoming waterfowl season. Game Hoggs E. and Hollywood got out over the past week and planted some Japenese Millet in a private swamp to provide for migrating waterfowl this fall. With planting seaosn just underway, there is still plenty of time to get out there and put in a food plot in your favorite areas. Good Luck!

GHHC Hen Tube Installation and Box Maintenance Spring 2008

With spring upon us it was time for the annual maintenece and new construction of nesting structures to be installed at Sketter Marsh and other locations across the Atlantic Flyway. The projects started with Mike, Frank, Murphy, and Mike's children building 7 hen tubes to be places in central New York. The installation of these tubes has been completed by Mike, Dave, Frank, and Murphy and all we have to do now is wait and see how the birds react to the structures. Let's hope for the best and don't forget to check out the results page, which can be accessed by the button above.

GHHC Banding BBQ and Hogg Doggs 07

The first annual GHHC Banding BBQ and Hogg Doggs 07 was a great success. Many friends, family, and youngsters took part in the 2 day event, and went home with many memories and pictures. In total, 58 bands were put on 57 ducks, plenty of good food was cooked and consumed, and some excllent dog training took place on day 2. Next year we are hoping for an even bigger and better event, and planning hs already begun. To view information about the event check out the Hoggs Shots and Hogg Journal Page or click out Hollywood's Journal Entry on the Avery Message Boards...
