The Game Hogg Hunt Club has yet to do any waterfowl or other hunting DVD reviews because we aren’t movie critics, however we do watch a lot of hunting shows and DVDs, as well as, we’ve had the opportunity to take part in the filming of a few DVDs over the past couple seasons. So we know we aren’t professional critics, but we’d at least share our opinions with our website visitors.

Ducks, Dogs, And Decoys’ third DVD release “Coast to Coast” came out in Mid-August of 2009 and is based on the 2008-2009 waterfowl season.  If you are not familiar with the D3 TV show or the first two D3 DVDs, they are mainly based on the daily life of Jeff “Pitboss” Coats a Maryland sea duck guide, decoy carver, wildlife photographer and retriever trainer.  This DVD, along with their previous two, focuses not on the hunt and kills, but on the waterfowler life style. 

“Coast to Coast” isn’t filled with hunts where limits are always reached by professional hunters, actually the D3 guys run into problems here and there throughout the season, just like everyone else and they capture those days, along with the good ones on film to share with you. The DVD has a number of styles of waterfowl hunting – field hunts for ducks and geese, pond hunts, river hunts, big water hunts, sea ducks, puddle ducks and even Tundra swans. Also included are special hunts with kids, veterans, and old friends all across the country. “Coast to Coast” doesn’t stop with the hunts; the D3 crew takes you on tours of waterfowl museums and the facilities of companies like Zink Calls, plus carving segments where Jeff takes you though carving a spread of sea ducks.  

Value is big with “Coast to Coast”. For $19.99 MSRP you get 7+ hours of Ducks, Dogs, and Decoys on 3 DVDs.  If you enjoy waterfowl DVDs or the waterfowler culture this is definitely a DVD to check out.
