Alaska Wildfowl Adventures Guide Service By Mike Bard

(c)David Rearick, Game Hogg Hunt ClubTM

Reviewing guides and outfitters isn't common practice for us here at the Game Hogg Hunt Club, as we don't often use them and work from time to time for a few.  We are, however, making an exception for Captain Tim Bouchard's Alaska Wildfowl Adventures, as there are just some hunts that you can't do on your own.

In November 2009, fellow Game Hogg, Dave Rearick, and I flew to Valdez, Alaska and stayed and hunted with Alaska Wildfowl Adventures. The owner Capt. Tim, his guide Capt. Brian Rhodes and Tim's wife, Diana, were excellent hosts, cooks and guides.  The area holds an excellent number of harlequins and barrows goldeneye and Tim and Brian knew just where to find them providing us and other hunters plenty of opportunities to harvest beautiful specimens of both, along with several other species of diver and sea ducks. Several areas we visited give you the feeling that you are the first human to ever set eyes on them and the vast amount of wildlife around was just amazing; mountain goats, bald eagles, sea lions, seals, and otters were all seen daily.

If you are looking for a high quality harlequin and/or a barrows hunt along scenic snow capped mountains and first rate hospitality, I highly recommend Alaska Wildfowl Adventures.
